Hello all our son was diagnosed with sagital craniosynostosis on Friday. We met with the nuerosurgeon/ plastic surgeon today. They confirmed he definitely has it, but they disagreed on course if action. Nuero said it's our choice and asked if we were okay with a goofy head shape. Plastics said absolutely do the surgery because the head shape will continue to get worse as he grows. Our concerns are eye problems or delays if we do nothing and head shape. Any of you in the same boat? What did you decide and why ? Thanks!

Hi! Our son was diagnosed this Friday as well. However, both plastic/neurosurgeon agreed on surgery. Even though our son, who is 7 months, is meeting all milestones and is developing great, they said surgery is best for a few reasons. Pressure on his brain, poor eyesight, seizures, and really for future social issues if his head continued to grow abnormally. Also, if we decided to wait until he was older, the surgery would be more complicated. I am scared to put him through this, as well as my husband, but this is best for him to have a more 'normal' life. GL & hugs!
